Trade fair centre to be set up by the Cochin International Airport

Chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan will lay the foundation stone for the trade fair centre to be set up by the Cochin International Airport Limited at Nedumbassery on Monday.

CIAL has allotted 3 acres near the CIAL golf course to set up the centre with an operational area of 35,000 square metres. It will also embrace a number of facilities including a conference hall, a meeting hall apart from 100 exhibition booths and space for car parking.

With the new initiative, the airport company aims at tapping the market of business traffic to and from Kochi and envisages converting an ordinary passenger in to a travelling customer by constituting a world class shopping area . The project also constitutes an important part of CIALs land utilisation plans for expanding its non-aeronautical revenue.
