Allu Arjun said he simply adores Malayalam films

In the backdrop of his reigning popularity in Kerala with all his Telugu films, including the recent Arya 2, finding success with his Malayalee fans, Tollywood’s youth icon Allu Arjunhas given an interview to a Malayalam private TV channel for the first time as a Shivaratri special today (Friday). Talking about his inspiration from Malayalam films which walk away with many prestigious National Awards every year with their quality and originality, Allu Arjun said he simply adores Malayalam films and the great artists Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. “I watch a lot of Malayalam movies and am really inspired by their quality and originality.

I am looking forward to do a straight Malayalam film in the near future,” added Allu Arjun, who had a tremendous opening this year in Kerala with Arya 2, which was released in around 65 screens and grossed Rs. 67 lakhs in just three days. Arya 2 has found popularity similar to what Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Mohanlal receive for their big masala films! It is now running to packed houses even in smaller stations and has taken 95 to 98% opening. The surprising thing is that Tamil superstar Ajith’s Aasal could release only in Kochi, as theatres in other areas preferred to screen Arya 2.
