\'Law and order has collapsed in Kerala\'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress led UDF Opposition in Kerala Assembly today alleged the law and order situation in the state has collapsed and the people were in the grip of fear.

Seeking leave for an adjournment motion on the recent brutal murder of a 41-year old house-wife by a gang of robbers in Palakkad, C P Muhammed (Cong) said the number of murders for gain and political killings in the state have increased after CPI-M led LDF government came to power in 2006. People in the state are in a grip of fear, he said.

Replying on behalf of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Law Minister M Vijayakumar assured the members of the House that police would nab the persons responsible for the murder of Sheela, wife of a businessman at Puthoor soon.

Police have set up two special squads to probe the case and Thrissur Range IG was supervising the investigation
