CPM meet explores chance of forging secular front

NEW DELHI: CPM politburos two-day meeting began on Thursday with the review of current political situation and the likelihood of forging a secular alternative in which parties with socialist background can play a pivotal role.

The meeting, also to review the ongoing rectification campaign, will decide the venue of partys extended central committee meeting to be held in August and who all to be invited for it. The extended CC is taking place in lieu of next years party congress that has been postponed to 2012 due to crucial assembly election in West Bengal and Kerala next year.
