Fillip to Cusat

KOCHI: An amount of Rs 10 crore has been allocated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) in the state budget 2010-11. Apart from this, Rs 2 crore has been set apart for the computerisation of the examination wings following the introduction of credit and semester system. Finance Minister Thomas Isaac has also enhanced the outlay for technical education from Rs 50 crore to Rs 65 crore.

The inter-university centres of Cusat, namely Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, Nano Sciences and Marine Biology Centre will have autonomy to mobilise funds.
