Kerala takes to UK streets to promote tourism

NEW DELHI: After the innovative marketing strategy of wrapping up the Rajdhani Express to New Delhi with scintillating mystical images of Gods on Country, Kerala Tourism has launched a similar initiative abroad.

The cabs of Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham in the United Kingdom are now plying the streets with images providing a feel of the nature and culture of the state. The initiative is a part of the state Tourism Department�s strategy to woo tourists from the UK, one of the biggest foreign markets for Kerala tourism.

�The year 2009 saw close to 7 lakh foreign tourists to the state, 90 percent of them from Europe, and the UK is our biggest market in Europe, State Tourism Director M Sivasankar told
