Pride of Kochi



KOCHI: Sangeeth Varghese, a native of Kochi, has been nominated as the Young Global Leader (YGL) 2010 by the World Economic Forum at Davos.

Sangeeth is among 13 individuals from India who have been honoured as YGLs.

He is a leadership thinker, columnist and the founder of LeadCap (www.leadcap.org), a unique leadership movement, striving to democratise leadership where every Indian has an opportunity to realise their leadership potential.

�We look to build leadership qualities beyond birth and living conditions to make a positive contribution to society. One doesn�t need extraordinary qualities to become a leaderSangeeth, a research associate with the London School of Economics, has won with other honouraries including Roger Federer, Steven Chen (co-founder and chief technology officer YouTube), Evan Williams (cofounder and CEO of Twitter), Nandita Das (actor) ... to name a few. Established in 2004 by the World Economic Forum, The Forum of Young Global Leaders is a unique and diverse global community of the world�s most outstanding next-generation leaders who commit a portion of their time to jointly shape a better future and thereby improve the state of the world.

Varghese hails from Ernakulam, and his parents, Varghese Skaria and Darly Vaghese, reside at Vennala. He is married to Annu. Sangeeth did his graduation at Sacred Heart College, Thevara.

�We will soon tie-up with MSN to identify smaller community leaders who are doing their bit to better their little world. People can put news about such individuals and we will contact and try to train them in cultivating their leadership skills he said
