�Railway safety week celebrated

PALAKKAD: Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager S.K. Raina inaugurated a seminar on �Role of human failures in accident, organised as part of the annual Railway Safety Week celebrations, here on Wednesday.



Antony Paul, former Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Trichy, spoke on the human failures that caused accidents in railways. He also suggested some ways to reduce human failures. Various competitions and seminars to improve the safety awareness among the railway staff and the public were also held.



A workshop on stress management, conducted on March 2 at the divisional office, was inaugurated by Additional Divisional Railway Manager Sitaram Sinku. Arun Kumar, Yoga expert, took a class on stress management.



The valedictory function of the safety week was inaugurated by B. Venugopal, Divisional Safety Officer, Palakkad. Mr. Raina presided over the function and gave away the prizes to the winners of the competitions.



A short film on �Safety at Level Crossing was released.
