Bandh against price rise hits normal life in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 27: Normal life was badly hit in Odisha on Tuesday when seven parties, including the ruling Biju Janata Dal, observed a bandh against price rise as part of the countrywide bandh called by non-Congress and non-BJP parties.

BJD leaders and workers along with the activists of CPI(M), CPI, Forward Bloc, CPI(ML) Liberation, JMM, and Samajwadi Party stopped trains and blocked highways and arterial roads across the state to enforce the bandh.

Ruling BJD took part in the bandh actively although it caused serious inconveniences to the people who were stranded in trains, railway stations and bus terminals for most parts of the day.
