Hindu outfits in Kerala plan \"Hindu Parliament\"

TPURAM: Seeking to foster unity among various sections of the Hindus, several community outfits in Kerala have joined hands to call a Hindu Parliament next month to discuss issues concerning the community.

According to the organisers, a reform proclamation convention would be held here on April 23 ahead of the larger meet planned for May 23.

This is an initiative to bring together various Hindu outifts on a single platform to address the common concerns of the community, the organisers said in a release Wednesday.

A Parliament is a form where you can take up issues, debate them, strive to arrive at conclusions acceptable to all, and, on occasions agree to disagree. The Hindu Parliament is also an idea like this, they said.

Head of Travancore Royal house Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma would be the Parliament Chairman and tantris (traditional high priests) of Sabarimala and Guruvayur temples its patrons. The meet would be inaugurated by Udupis Pejawar Mutts Viswsa Theertha Samigal
