Inter-State meeting on vector-borne diseases

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An inter-state meeting between Kerala and Tamil Nadu on the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases will be held here on April 23.

A �Four Plus Campaign for the prevention and control of four diseases; chikungunya, malaria, dengue fever and leptospirosis in the border areas is the purpose behind the meeting.

The Kerala delegation will be headed by Health Secretary Manoj Joshi and the Tamil Nadu delegation will be headed by S Elangoan, director, Public Health. The meeting will share information on diseases and activities undertaken by both States in the prevention and control of the diseases. Both the States will also formulate a joint action plan to face any eventuality in future.
