TPURAM: A bike-born father and a son were killed on Tuesday when a KSRTC bus ran over them after they fell to the road after collision with another bike coming in the opposite direction at paaroorkuzhi near Balaramapuram.
The driver of the second bike, Sanal Kumar (40) of Maruthoorkonam, was fatally injured and was admitted to a private hospital here.
The deceased were identified as Santhosh Kumar (45) and his son Vaishakh (17) of Nellimoodu. Sanal Kumar was a conductor at KSRTC Central depot. It was on Monday that he got promoted to the post of Station Master. It was a sorrowful happenstance that he was run over by the bus under the Corporation (Kerala Road Transport Corporation) which he works.
The accident happened at 2.15 pm. The jeep driver of Balaramapuram Police Station who passed the spot took them to hospital but they succumbed to injuries
