Nine trains cancelled in Kerala

Kochi: Nine trains were cancelled Wednesday after a goods train derailed at Puthukkad.

The trains are Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity (to and fro), Ernakulam-Bangalore Intercity, Shornur-Ernakulam passenger (to and fro), Ernakulam-Guruvayur passenger (to and fro) and Guruvayur-Thrissur (to and fro).

The trains that have to stop midway: Thiruvananthapuram-Shornur Venad Express will end its journey at Ernakulam.

While the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalapuram Parasuram Express will stop its journey at Ernakulam, Mangalapuram-Thiruvananthapuram will do so at Shornur.

The Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode Janasadabdi Express will stop its trip at Ernakulam Junction.

The Yaswantpur-Kochuveli Express will end the journey at Coimbatore.

Here is a list of the trains that are rescheduled:

Thiruvananthapuram-Kurla Express to start journey at 12 noon.

Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi Kerala Express to start from Thiruavananthapuram at 11.15.

Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Express to start at 1.30

Ernakulam-Nissamuddin Mangala Express will start its journey at 3.30.

Meanwhile, the Railway officials have said that the reason for the goods train to derail was the crack in the rail.

The work is on to move the derailed bogies from the track. The rail traffic is expected to get back to normal by Thursday noon.
