Road traffic hit as summer showers lash city

KOZHIKODE: Summer showers, accompanied by strong winds, lashed the city and nearby areas Monday uprooting several trees and snapping electricity supply.

No casualty was reported in the rains that provided much needed respite to the sultry heat.

The trees fell on roads causing traffic snarl during the evening peak hour.

Most parts of the city went without power as power cables snapped with trees falling over them.

The city has been experiencing summer showers for the last couple of days.
