Decision on new minister after LDF meet, says VS

TPURAM: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Monday hinted that a decision on inducting Kerala Congress (J) rebel camper V Surendran Pillai into the cabinet in place of PJ Joseph, who was ousted from cabinet last week, would be taken only after detailed discussions by the liaison committee of the LDF.

The LDF did not discuss the issue, was Achuthanandan curt reply when reporters sought to know the chances of Pillai being taken into the cabinet. The issue would be coming up in the next meeting of the LDF state committee this week end.

Joseph was sacked from the cabinet by Achuthanandan on Saturday shortly after he announced his decision to resign as minister and quit the LDF for merger with opposition UDF ally Kerala Congress (M).

When brought to notice about the allegations levelled against P J Joseph before resignation, he said it would be true.

The cabinet today decided to appoint an expert panel with P K Mohanty, IAS, as the chairman, to study on milk price
