Elephant died of haemorrhage: vet

KATTAPPANA: Veterinary surgeon V. Sunilkumar, who conducted the post-mortem examination on the elephant which died at Mattupetty near Munnar on Monday, said that the death of the animal was due to internal haemorrhage and that the elephant was in musth when it damaged the vehicles parked at Echo Point.

He said no piece of plastic was found in the intestine of the animal, as was feared by some. The samples will be tested at the forest laboratory and at the sociological laboratory at Palode.
