Hridayathalam a big success

KOCHI: Malayalis across the world do listen to K.J. Yesudas, whether he is singing or speaking.

That perhaps explains the success of Hridayathalam, a charity initiative launched by the legendary singer for giving financial assistance to heart patients, especially for heart surgery on children.

Initially launched with the target of assisting 70 heart surgeries, the project had already benefited 51 patients and is set to exceed the target.

Addressing a press conference held here on Tuesday soon after the 51st cheque under the scheme was handed over, Mr. Yesudas, as always, attributed the success of the programme to the benevolence of God.
