Joseph plea to disqualify Pillai

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Congress (J) faction led by P.J. Joseph has taken the battle in the party to the Assembly requesting Speaker K. Radhakrishnan to disqualify party legislator V. Surendran Pillai under the Anti-Defection Act.

Party Whip and former Minister Mons Joseph submitted a letter to the Speaker here on Friday contending that Mr. Pillai was liable to be disqualified as he had left the party and its legislature wing on his own. As the Speaker was not in office, the letter signed by party chairman P.J. Joseph, vice-chairman T.U. Kuruvilla and Mr. Mons Joseph was handed over to Legislature Secretary P.D. Rajan.

A KC(J) delegation would call on the Speaker on May 11, 12 or 13 to present the partys case against Mr. Pillai, Mr. Mons Joseph said later
