DTPC plans walkway in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) has chalked out a comprehensive development plan for the district, including a hanging bridge across Beeyam Canal at Ponnani and a walkway along the banks of the Kadalundipuzha in Malappuram.

The hanging bridge will cost Rs.1.27 crore and is expected to give a thrust to local tourism of Ponnani. Boat races and water sports are at present being held in Beeyam Canal to attract crowd. The hanging bridge will give a boost to local tourism, said Collector M.C. Mohandas, explaining the details of the development plans
