Machine for vending milk

KOCHI: The first Anytime Milk Vending Machine will be inaugurated here on Wednesday by Mayor Mercy Williams at a function at the Renewal Centre, Kaloor, at 11 a.m.

The milk sachet vending machine has been developed and is introduced by Ernakulam Regional Milk Producers Cooperative Union, using the latest technology for anytime sale of the Milma brand of milk and curd.

The milk vending machines will be fist installed on the premises of apartment complexes and flats, said a statement from the managing director of the Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Union Jose Abraham in a press statement here.

The release said that it was a totally new concept in milk sales and the technology had been developed under the aegis of the cooperative union.

Milk vending through the machines will be through use of smart cards that can be recharged.

Round-the-clock refrigeration and automatic stock position information are two of the key features of the facility being introduced, the press release said
