Doctors\' Day celebrated

Thiruvananthapuram: The government hospitals in the State are fully equipped to meet the exigencies of an epidemic of viral fever or infectious diseases, Industries Minister Elamaram Karim has said.

He was inaugurating the Doctors Day celebrations here on Thursday.

Distributing the State governments Best Doctor awards in the public and private sectors, Mr. Karim said the medical profession was one service sector which demanded a high level of social commitment, dedication and responsibility from the professionals.

Despite the odd complaints, the services rendered by government doctors were exemplary, he added.

Director of Health Services M. K. Jeevan, the ADHS (Health and Family Welfare) P.K. Jamila, ADHS (Public Health) P.P. Aravindan, Director of Medical Education V. Geetha were also present on the occasion.
