M.Tech. in government colleges

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Education M.A. Baby has said the government has decided to start the M.Tech. course in government engineering colleges in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur.

Replying to questions in the Assembly on Friday, Mr. Baby said a majority of the self-financing colleges in the State had reached an accord with the government.

He said the government had not taken a stance on the Centres proposal for a unified medical entrance examination. Since the States were following different reservation norms, all aspects had to be considered before implementing the proposal. The government had sought a year to implement the Free and Compulsory Education Bill.
