Hike in bonus, allowance

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has announced an increase in the Onam bonus and festival allowance for its employees and teachers. In a press release on Friday, the Finance Ministers office said the bonus this time would be Rs.2,750 and the festival allowance Rs.1,500. Onam advance has been increased to Rs.7,500.

Part-time contingent employees and non-muster roll (NMR) workers would get an advance of Rs.1,000 in place of Rs.750 last year. Employees and teachers drawing a monthly salary of up to Rs.10,750 are eligible for bonus. Contract workers and temporary workers too would receive festival allowance at the revised rate.

Pensioners and Anganvadi teachers and helpers too will be given an increase of Rs.50 in the festival allowance this time
